The University of Wisconsin volleyball team has announced the signing of two front-row players who will join the Badgers next season.
The Badgers have received the letters of intent of Alexis Mitchell, a 6-foot-1 outside hitter from Davenport, Iowa, and Mary Ording, a 6-3 middle blocker from Cathedral High School in Indianapolis.
Coach Pete Waite described Mitchell as a "high flyer whose potential on the volleyball court has only begun to be tapped.'' Mitchell also is an excellent track athlete who won the 2007 state title in the long jump and finished second in the 200 meters for Davenport Central High School.
Ording led her high school team to a state title last weekend. She plays her club volleyball for Munciana, the same club that current UW libero Kim Kuzma played for.
