A Pennsylvania prospect projected as a college linebacker verbally committed to the University of Wisconsin football program on Monday, according to various recruiting services.

A.J. Fenton, a 6-foot-1, 208-pound senior from Erie, Pa., selected the Badgers over Pitt, Illinois and Iowa, according to ESPN.com. He made his official visit to Madison on the weekend the Badgers hosted Marshall on Sept. 6.

He is the 13th player to verbally commit to Wisconsin's class of 2009. Click on the link below to see the full list.

Fenton, who reportedly runs the 40-yard dash in 4.7 seconds, started just one game on defense for McDowell High school as a junior, according to Scout.com, but had seven tackles and a sack in that contest.

Fenton switched to quarterback this year and runs the Trojans' triple option after playing fullback earlier in his career. As a junior, he had 144 carries for 1,079 yards and 13 touchdowns, according to Scout.com.

With Fenton at the helm this season, McDowell amassed 125 points in the first three games and is 2-1 overall.

He completed 3-of-7 passes for 154 yards and a touchdown in a 38-33 loss to Seneca Valley in a Week 2 game that was televised by FSN Pittsburgh.

This past Friday, he led McDowell to a 49-13 victory over Norwin (Pa.) in which he rushed for 216 yards and three touchdowns and threw for TDs of 47 and 46 yards. To see video highlights of that game, click on the link below.
