Freshmen Laurie Nosbusch and Erin Jacobsen scored early goals Sunday as the University of Wisconsin women's soccer team improved to 6-2-1 -- matching last year's victory output -- with a 4-0 victory over Nevada 4-0 at the McClimon Soccer Complex.

Nosbusch's goal, her fifth of the season, came on assists from Stephanie Krombach and Darcy Riley. Jacobsen helped the Badgers pick up the momentum with a second goal 5 minutes later, served again by Riley, for her third of the season.

UW increased their lead to 3-0 in the middle of the second half on a goal from Meghan Flannery, her second of the season, on a pass from Birdie Leibham. In the last two minutes, Stephanie Krombach knocked in another ball on a quick pass from Lauren Cochlin and an assist from Krista Liskevych.

Badgers goalkeeper Jamie Klages had a solid game with three saves, highlighted by her facing an open shot on goal in the middle of the first half and a near head-in by Nevada with 6 minutes left in the game.

"I'm just happy we got two wins at home this weekend," UW coach Paula Wilkins said. "I hope we can keep up the momentum going into next weekend and Big Ten play."

The Badgers return to action looking to continue their home streak on Friday at 7 p.m. against Illinois in their first Big Ten contest of the season. They will remain at home for the weekend to play Purdue on Sunday afternoon at 1 p.m.
