Former Heisman Trophy winner and NFL running back Ron Dayne is among several ex-Wisconsin Badgers scheduled to play in a charity basketball game in Madison on Sunday.
The game benefiting the Lussier Community Education Center (formerly the Wexford Community Center) will be at 4 p.m. Sunday at Memorial High School, 201 S. Gammon Road.
The lineup of former Badgers expected to play includes former basketball players Charlie Wills and Roy Boone and former football players Haywood Simmons, Michael London and Kenny Gales.
Madison Memorial boys basketball coach Steve Collins and Principal Bruce Dahmen are also expected to play.
The all-star team will be taking on the Harlem Ambassadors, a team offering "a unique brand of Harlem-style basketball featuring high-flying slam dunks, dazzling ball handling tricks and hilarious comedy routines."
"At our shows we want the kids to know that they're part of our team, too," Coach Lade Majic said in a statement. "We invite as many kids as we can to come sit on the bench, have a front row seat during the show, and get involved in all the fun stuff we do."
Advance tickets are $5 for students and seniors, $6 for adults and free for kids 4 and under. A 10-pack is $40. They are available at any State Bank of Cross Plains location; Right Touch Dry Cleaners, 6790 Watts Road; and Rapid Refill Ink, 6614 Odana Road.
Day-of-game tickets are $7 for students and seniors and $8 for adults.
