Offense: D-minus

Penn State took advantage of Allan Evridge's low release and batted down several passes. Evridge's fumble near UW's goal line was a killer. Travis Beckum isn't the consistent playmaker he once was.

  Defense: C-minus

The defense kept Penn State's explosive offense in check in the first half but couldn't overcome consistently poor field position. The Badgers put up minimal resistance in the second half.

 Special teams: F

Derrick Williams' 63-yard punt return for a touchdown broke open the game for Penn State. Brad Nortman's 15-yard punt set up PSU's first field goal. The Badgers' returns went absolutely nowhere.

  Overall: D

Once again, an ineffective offense, a second-half collapse on defense and shaky special teams were too much to overcome against a good team. For the first time, though, UW wasn't competitive.

Barry fiddles (or plays golf) while Rome burns. Well, they tore down the statues of Nero, it might be time to melt down that abomination outside Camp Randall.

In our section we were discussing how the band should go back to hazing so they don't have to come to the next game! Give the band a B+

I agree with Brett. To give a grade of a "D" is nuts. The biggest loss in almost 20 yrs at home is deserving of an "F". The only good thing about that game is that the Lord had mercy and allowed it to end.

Brett says:
D??? There's only one grade for that game, and that is an "F".

I'm with "stickafork", the missing grade is the critical one: coaching performance. Bielema inherited a winning program with good talent. This is increasingly becoming his team, and the true colors are showing. Unfortunately Bielema also appears to have inherited Alvarez's arrogance, which only plays when you're winning.
And when is someone going to tell him what a dork he looks like in his little zipped up jacket. He makes Tressel's sweater-vest look like underarmor by comparison.

Bruce says:
This team needs some speed.I hate to say it but you have a huge offensive line and defensive line that is slow to react. The offensive line can't block and defensive line put's no pressure on the opposing QB.For a team with such high hopes Bielama shows he is not a good coach and talent evaluator.

And it was the band they suspended?

I'm wondering why the coaching staff doesn't receive a grade? Secondary looked lost in the 2nd half, and PSU went right to the air without a second thought of running the ball. The say something; not sure what UW staff saw.

Are you kidding me? How does this team not get F's in every category...they are flat out horrible this year...Barry might actually have to do something (fire Bielema) and pay attention to whats happening with his football team instead of trying to dable in everything but the athletic program he's supposed to run...
